| In 2016, Department 56 launched a membership/rewards program for Village Collectors by the name of Village Friends. The kits were specifically targeted to the two primary groups of collections and collectors- The Original Snow Village (ceramic) designated by the color blue and Heritage Village (porcelain) with its green signature color. | ||||||||||||||
| The inspiration for the designs were those things found in the center of town or town square. Each membership kit included a specific lighted item in ceramic or porcelain, a tailored tote bag in signature colors designed by artist Paul Lundberg featuring the piece, a redeemable reward certificate for $20, and custom packaging in green or blue.
